Professional Bio:


Mia Bertalan is currently a third-year medical student at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. She joined the Sustainable Health Lab as a second-year, working on identifying healthcare quality indicators for patients with terminal cancer. Reliable, patient-centered end-of-life quality indicators are essential in assessing and improving medical care at this difficult time for these patients and their families. As an undergraduate, Mia concentrated in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology with a Secondary Field in Global Health and Health Policy. She then coordinated neuro-oncology research and brain donations for two years at the Massachusetts General Hospital prior to medical school. She is planning to apply for residency in general surgery followed by a fellowship in surgical oncology.
