Open Postdoctoral/Research Scientist Position

Description:  
The Sustainable Health Lab is accepting applications for a postdoctoral position or research scientist in Healthcare Analytics.  The research will be under the supervision of Prof. Inas Khayal at the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, Biomedical Data Science, and the Department of Computer Science at Dartmouth College.  The lab utilizes systems modeling and data science methods to develop an understanding of the structure and behavior of complex healthcare delivery systems, with a focus on chronic care.  In this position, the successful candidate will conduct computational research to support decision-making for healthcare quality and equity improvement within healthcare systems.  This work is part of a recently funded American Cancer Society Award.
The lab is located at Dartmouth-Health, Williamson Building, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH; however, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,
remote work will be considered.  The duration of this position is for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year.  Other durations can be considered upon mutual interest.
Required Qualifications: Education: Ph.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Ph.D. in computer science, industrial and systems engineering, electrical engineering, health policy, statistics, operations research, or a closely related field by the start date. 
Strong background in analytics
Demonstrated research ability
Creative thinking
Excellent writing skills for article and grant writing
Ability to work independently.
Willingness to learn new skills
Expertise in machine learning, statistics, time-series analysis, and/or simulation.
Expertise with statistical software and programming languages (e.g., Python)
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with signal processing
Experience working with healthcare data
